Every traveler has a dream destination, someplace where they haven’t been but they hope to visit someday. Of course once that we visit that place, our dream destination changes, or we just add new ones when we find out about them, which isn’t that difficult on the internet. My dream destination, maybe I should then say my current dream destination, is Svalbard, the one close to North Pole.
My dream destination – Svalbard
Those who have never heard about it, Svalbard is group of islands, an archipelago, located in Norway. Roughly speaking they are half-way between the northern parts of Norway and the North Pole. They belong to Norway, and are known in the world probably by the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, a seed bank where seeds from plants from around the world are kept so that they are preserved during disasters.
Seed vault might be what Svalbard is know for by majority of the world, but that’s not the only thing that you can do in Svalbard. Being close to North Pole means that if you visit Svalbard you can enjoy in northern lights. Not to mention the glaciers, all the snow that’s there (naturally) and let’s not forget about the polar bears. Ah yes, it’s such a shame that getting to there isn’t that simple, at least not for an ordinary mortal like me. Svalbard isn’t the place for you if you don’t like the cold, maybe it is in the summer, but even then the weather is quite chilly. Still, Svalbard is a place that I would like to visit someday. How about you, what’s your dream travel destination?
